A few months ago, we started working on a project called "The Octopus's Garden" with the Grade 8s. We have to design a twenty-first century classroom. At first, I thought it was difficult. But as the days went by, I found it easier. I'm a member of a team called "The Atomic Sharks". Our team focuses on researching about furniture fit for a twenty-first century.
I'm the photographer in my team as well as a photographer for the class. I take pictures of my team/class working. We have an album on Picasa. Everyone can add pictures.
I have learnt a lot during this project. I've also learnt a lot of stuff about furniture and about colours that are perfect for a classroom. What challenged me is that it's quite hard to find/research stuff about furniture for a classroom. But thanks to other groups and my team, I've found it easier. I enjoy working with the Grade 8s. They're really fun, nice, kind and helpful. I've also felt that my class is getting closer with each other. We're getting to know each other more bit by bit.
I want to be able to work well with others. I don't really like working in groups or teams. I prefer working individually. But thanks to this project, I'm starting to enjoy working with a group.
I'm looking forward to the outcome of this project. And I also want to do a project similar to this in the future. :)
